For up-to-date information on if brush burning is allowed throughout the State, you can reference the State's website which is listed below.
Permits are required for any outdoor burning. You may obtain a permit from the Selectmen's Office or contact the Fire Warden or Fire Chief at the Central Fire Station. As a convenience, Fire Permits for outside burning are now available online for the Town of Sandwich. The website is www.nhfirepermit.com. Go online and fill in the information required on the permit. IMPORTANT - make sure you read the explanations for the different types of fires. There is a $3.00 fee payable by credit card to the State for each permit. At the end of the transaction, you will be able to print the permit. This is very important in the event there are any questions, and the Fire Department is called, so print the permit.
Questions? Contact Fire Warden Jim Mykland at 603.284.6450.
